Geographic Information Systems Manager
Jeremy Pyne joined the Johnson Center in 2006 as a GIS specialist and helped develop the GIS and data infrastructure currently used by the Community Research Institute.
Pyne earned a master’s degree in public administration with a focus on urban and regional affairs, as well as a bachelor’s degree in geography, from Grand Valley State University.
Pyne speaks, writes, and teaches on GIS, data analysis, and Community Information Systems in Grand Valley State University classes and local conferences and trainings. Publications include “The Brain Drain Wars: Characteristics of Recent Movers into and out of Michigan” in Sustaining Michigan and “The Ten Masks of Administrative Evil” Public Administration and Film in Administrative Theory & Praxis. He is interested in urban planning issues and working to provide useful data that informs everyday decision making and community involvement.
